Juan Luis Cebrián, consejero delegado de Prisa y habitual
de las reuniones del club desde 2006, el ministro de economía Luis de Guindos –
invitado por Cebrián - y Pablo Isla, gerente de Zara, serán los representantes
españoles este año en la reunión anual del selecto club con más de medio siglo
de historia.
Origen de Bilderberg
El club Bilderberg celebró su primera reunión en 1954
promovida por el político polaco Joseph Retinger con el objetivo de contrarrestar
el incipiente antiamericanismo en Europa provocado por el Plan Marshall y la
propaganda soviética. El éxito de la primera reunión motivó sucesivas reuniones
anuales por las que han pasado los hombres y mujeres más influyentes del
planeta.
Secretismo y poder
En las reuniones no se permite la entrada a los medios de
comunicación y su reglamento es muy estricto. Esta rigidez y secretismo ha dado
lugar a múltiples teorías conspirativas acerca del poder de este club llegando a
afirmar incluso que eran, realmente, los que gobernaban el mundo.
Quizás esta afirmación no es cierta pero si es verdad que
Bielderberg es uno de los lobbies más influyentes del mundo occidental.
Presencia española
En lo que respecta a
la presencia española, han sido
muchos los que han asistido a esas reuniones como los reyes de España, Joaquín
Almunia, Cesar Alierta (presidente de Telefónica), Esperanza Aguirre o Juan
María Nin (director general de La Caixa), entre otros.
